Fantastic Places

If you're an Alaskan, then you know how important frequent flier miles are to your sanity.  The only reasons I've survived in the frozen north this long are family, a wood stove, and getting out of Alaska as often as I can.

I'm an enthusiastic traveler who likes to avoid strict iteneraries.  If you travel with me, be prepared for the unexpected detour, which often leads to a memorable adventure.  I travel light and enjoy simple pleasures like beautiful natural scenery, delicious local food, and mingling with the townsfolk.  I always have an eye out for my future idyllic home base and am happy to say I've run across more than a few candidate towns.

Sometimes I travel solo, sometimes with my husband, and sometimes with my son.  My wandering companion usually flavors the trip and influences our activities, but my motto is always the same: experience is what you make of it.  Or something to that effect. Basically, I believe that memories don't make themselves and that there's no sense in waiting around for something interesting or fulfilling to happen to you.  I choose to go in search of new experiences, and I always find them (though not always the ones I anticipated)!
